What drives your interest in working on solar energy issues?
I am passionate about contributing to the clean energy transition, climate progress, and advanced growth and development. My educational background in energy resources policy & analysis and sustainable leadership and technology prepared me for some truly fascinating and enjoyable work, and I look forward to building on those experiences. Solar’s scalability range, innovation trajectories, cost curves, and integrative properties make it an ideal energy resource for the 21st century.
What impact do you feel the SolSmart program and you as an Advisor will have on the communities with which you will work?
My local communities have just begun to develop their solar market and have made some important early progress. After initial consultation and dialogue with key stakeholders, we have sketched a strategy based on the current landscape. Upon completion of the Bronze level requirements, we will work toward our other stated objectives by preplanning for residential, municipal, corporate, industrial, military, and educational proof-of-concept projects by engaging prospective public and private sector collaborators and investment partners.
What do you hope to gain from this experience?
I’m especially interested in the deep policy exposure and the municipality based structure of this experience. My primary objective is to develop the very best solar platform available for Oklahoma City, and position it as a leader for other communities throughout the State and region.
